Hey bear sensory patterns

Hey Bear Sensory is one of the leading sources of sensory-based content for children worldwide. Their cheerful dancing characters and catchy music have garnered over 3.6M+ Youtube Subscribers and 3.1B+ total views (as of October 2025). They were looking to expand their online shop with baby clothing and blankets and wanted to feature their colorful characters. I was tasked to design 2D versions of their 3D characters and illustrate their patterns. The results were 4 playful designs featured on baby zippies, snuggle sets and blankets.
My Process

To illustrate each character, I used a combination of hand drawing in Adobe Fresco and fine-tuning in Adobe Illustrator. Once I built out our asset library with different expressions and poses, I began designing each pattern. I used special care with each design to reflect the videos they were inspired by. I would meet with Wayne and Lucie to implement feedback and make sure the designs were shaping up to their taste.
I collaborated with the lovely Hey Bear owners Wayne and Lucie. With their direction, I was able to illustrate vector versions of their characters that fit within their brand and were also print-friendly for the products they wanted to create.
The Final cut
With each pattern, I delivered vector files along with different background colors so they were ready for various use. The result was a playful and colorful collection of items from bamboo pajamas to cozy comforters.
